Two apps I can't live without
I love technology
And believe it can be a great resource, particularly when it comes to monitoring weather and health, because let's face it, we need to take care of ourselves to be able to take care of our loved ones.
When it's sunny we all want to enjoy the great weather, but that also means you should protect yourself from the sun, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a crazy Asian woman who wants to preserve her skin.
UV Index, or Ultraviolet Index, is the standard measurement of the strength of sunburn-producing UV radiation and is the accurate way of determining how much sun exposure you should limit yourself to compared to how hot it feels. This app shows you the index at your particular (or desired) location, either through manual entry or geo-location.
While I don't have a hard time drinking water, since I don't like juices and sodas in general, I am very bad at remembering to drink enough.
Water Drink Reminder:
This app is pretty basic as well. You can put it your weight and goal (if you have weight loss goals) and customize the settings so that you get reminder notifications; I have it set to only remind me when I fall behind (versus at specific intervals).
The other thing I like about this app is the notification sound: it sounds like water being poured into a glass. =)
Plus, this app works with my smartwatch (Moto360) so I never miss any of the notifications and and can add new glasses when I don't have my phone nearby or on silent.
Once I started using this app I was amazed how many days I still fell short of drinking even just 7 glasses of water, and when I do drink on pace I notice how much more I have to pee.
I couldn't find the exact same app for iOS, but if you do a search there are tons of free and paid options.
